Vision Board Workshop
using images as a creative tool to manifest your goals
What do you envision? All of our achievements begin with a vision. We plant this image like a seed into our minds and it begins to sprout.
Join this online workshop as we explore the process of making a vision board, including the energetics of creative energy, collage as an artistic medium and synchronizing our belief system with our goals.
We will start with a presentation and there will be optional studio time afterwards. Feel free to bring creative materials for making a physical board, such as photos, cardboard, scissors, glue or tape. You could also make a digital version on a design platform.
You will leave this workshop with clear steps to craft your vision.
Stay rooted in your vision.
Creating vision boards is a powerful artistic tool that activates imagery to align our thoughts and emotions with what we would like to manifest in our lives. In the realm of collage, this medium opens new neural pathways in our brains as we challenge ourselves to construct a desired reality from what already exists. It’s an ancestral method of survival.
Whenever I’m having difficulty maintaining a consistent flow in my practice, I make a vision board. Once you get started, it can even be addicting if you’re someone like me who collects images on a daily basis. A fellow artist recently described my practice as fertile. I have creative blocks all the time, but I’ve developed a connection with my inner world to move through these blocks quickly and continue making things.
If you’re a creative person, you know there’s no time to waste. Ideas are constantly arriving and it’s easy to lose them. Documentation is essential, otherwise you may as well be trying to catch the wind in your hands—only to feel the air seep through your fingers. This process requires staying in dialogue with yourself and understanding where you find the most inspiration.
Being an artist is not a title reserved for a select few people. It’s a state of being that anyone has the potential to nurture within themselves. Unfortunately, art schools and art markets have promoted a myth that being artistic is a clique where you can’t sit with us. I would like to use this craft studio as a vessel to help facilitate intuitive thought processes and boost fertility in your artistic life.
Vision boards allow me to know exactly what I want to do, and then I do it. This creative tool makes life simple. Pictures conjure moments and landscapes that I seek to experience. When I align my actions with these visions, I transition them from my mind into the physical realm. I’ve particularly enjoyed making art with historical images and family photos. Connecting the past with the present reveals the timelessness of everything.
